Okay, last week was a little warm-up, but now the year is in full swing and we're excited to bring you our best advice for growing your business this year in a way that also allows for a spacious, no-burnout life!
Lately, weβve been having a lot of conversations about prioritization.
If you are a solopreneur or small team business, prioritization becomes 10x more important because you are always working with such limited resources.
Itβs way too easy to say βyesβ to everything or pour energy into projects/ideas that feel urgent instead of whatβs truly important.
This year, weβre determined to do less with more impact, making sure that our decisions align with the bigger picture of where we want to steer the business.
Prioritization requires intention. Time set aside to think. To decide. But every minute you spend intentionally prioritizing comes back to you ten-fold because your time thereafter is spent on the things that will truly move the needle for you.

Evaluate your offers and revenue streams for the 80/20 rule

π©π»βπ¦° π: It is not an exaggeration to say that the biggest growth leap we ever made in our business was when we decided to stop selling tons of disparate offers and just go all-in on our WAIM Unlimited coaching program.
Now, I'm not saying that the only way to succeed is by selling one thing, but I am saying that one of the biggest mistakes I made early on in my online business journey was pouring tons of hours and effort into products that were only bringing in like 5% of my total revenue.
We usually like to audit our revenue streams at the end of each year, but if you haven't done this yet, let this be your sign!
You're looking for that coveted Pareto principle, 80/20 rule that states 80% of the output often comes from 20% of the input. Where's that 20% that you can prioritize and amplify this year?
Hereβs a simple exercise to try:
π― Step #1 - Write down every offer or revenue stream you had last year. Be specificβinclude products, client service packages, courses, affiliate income, etc.
π Step #2 - Next to each, note the percentage of your total revenue that it generated.
βοΈ Step #3 - Go through and ask yourself: Is this worth my time and energy? Could I improve or simplify this? Could I focus more on whatβs already working?
π Action item: Identify one offer/revenue stream to focus more energy on this year and one to deprioritize.

Which of your marketing channels is the main character?

π¨π»β𦲠π: One of the biggest traps solopreneurs fall into is trying to be everywhere. Instagram is hot right now! No, it's TikTok! Don't forget about YouTube! Oh, and LinkedIn is still a thing, right?! (Right!? π)
While it might feel like being everywhere increases your chances of success, spreading yourself too thin usually means NONE of your efforts get the traction they deserve.
Instead, try this: Prioritize ONE marketing channel for traffic and ONE for nurturing.
Hereβs how we think about it:
π Traffic: This is the channel where new people find you (e.g., YouTube, SEO, Pinterest).
π Nurturing: This is the channel where you build deeper relationships with existing people (e.g., your email list, a private community).
Assigning clear roles to your marketing channels helps you avoid distractions and focus your energy on what actually works.
π Action item: Audit your current marketing channels and decide: Which ONE will I focus on for traffic? Which ONE will I use to nurture my audience?

Protect yourself from burnout NOW by blocking off time for rest this year

π©π»βπ¦° π: Most people only think about taking breaks after it's too late and they're already close to (or in the midst of) burnout.
The irony is that taking breaks when you're in the middle of a crisis makes it feel ten times harder to step away.
That's why many years ago we decided to intentionally block off time every year to step back from the business. It used to be December and June/July, but it can shift year to year depending on what our goals are.
At the start of every year, we pick weeks (or even months) where we wonβt take on launches, new projects, or extra commitments.
Knowing those breaks are coming helps us mentally keep up with our workload, and it prevents burnout before it starts.
This non-negotiable is about prioritizing REST in your business. If you want to run a Calm Creator Business, making these kinds of intentional decisions is how you accomplish that.
π Action item: Block off at least two "break periods" this year.
Whether it's a vacay or a content hiatus, being able to look at your calendar and choose those dates before you feel like you need the time off will help you feel in control of your time and your pace.
